About Us

Jaylene Garau, the author of The Motivated Child, is a certified teacher in the state of Florida. Prior to becoming a teacher, Jaylene had a successful career as a television reporter for the NBC station in Miami. Grueling hours and countless crime stories later, she decided to make a career change and became an elementary school teacher. As a teacher, Jaylene quickly gained respect from her colleagues and from the parents of her students. She developed The Motivated Child when she was a classroom teacher. The program is based on the successful strategies she used to motivate her students to reach their fullest potential. She realized there was a need for such a program after numerous parents had approached her asking for help in motivating their kids at home. Jaylene developed this program with busy families in mind. Her hope is that The Motivated Child will enrich the lives of families who use it and motivate children to do and be their best.
